Controlling pest infestation in indoor plants.

Updated: Oct 22

Sunlight is essential for plant life. A plant deprived of sunlight will surely weaken the plant, attracting pests and becoming diseased. If deprivation is extended for a long period, the plant will die.

This problem is particularly serious in the case of indoor plants. Here I share a particular situation that arose in our own home.

I placed my beautiful 'Cordyline Fruticosa' plant near the east-facing window of my home, in the summer, after ensuring there was adequate sunlight for several hours each morning. The plant flourished, showing off its rainbow colours, adding beauty to our living room and was the first thing that struck a visitor when they entered our home.

Then winter came, and even though we get good sunshine even in the winter, the plant began to wilt. A close examination revealed the plant was infested with 'Mealy Bugs', a leaf sap sucking pest, quite capable of destroying the foliage if left unattended.

This video explains what I did to facilitate my Cordyline plant's recovery to robust health and beauty.

I will be happy to learn about your experiences. Please feel free to share them with me so that I may further share them with my audience.
